Lets start todays learning journey together! 正文讲解 第一部分内容:创境激趣 With the continuous enhancement of Chinas comprehensive national strength, more and more foreigners come to China to travel and learn Chinese culture, which also brings us more and more challenges. Xiao Wang is a shop owner in a tourist spot. Whenever foreign tourists come to ask about goods, he cant understand or answer them. Do you know how to introduce the goods in English? Lets study together! 第二部分内容:方法讲解 First, please look at this item in Xiao Wangs shop. “中国景德镇出产的纯手工瓷器。” How should we describe it in English? We can describe it like this: “The vase is made of china. It is made by hand. It is made in Jiangxi Province.” Please look carefully and find the similarities between these sentences. The passive voice appears in all of these sentences. So what is the passive voice? In our daily expressions, there are often sentences that contain what is said. For example: My clothes are wet. My teacup was broken. The piece of bread was eaten. Please look carefully and find the commonalities in these sentences. We find out what kind of structure these sentences all use: and the subject is the recipient of the action. And the person who did it didnt show up. When translated into English, we would use the passive voice. The sentence structure is: subject + be + past participle of verb + by+ performer of action. by+ performer of action can be omitted when there is no need to specify the performer of action. For example: Sentences underlined in the preceding content: Where was the cheese found by you? Where did you find this cheese?
