How has the digital media revolution played out inside Americans’ modes of transport – the all-important car, as well as buses, trains, and airplanes? 3 Understanding electronic and digital media use while in transit is not a trivial issue. Americans drive almost an hour every day*, and they spend 55 minutes commuting (by any means) per workday** – either one a notable chunk of their day.
