But some of them are a little proud of themselves, and they don’t think carefully and logically before answering questions. And some of their learning methods are against the rules of learning a language. Analysis of the teaching material: This lesson comes from Module 5 Unit 3, it is for revision and application. In Unit 1, we learnt to describe one’s plan with infinitives. In Unit 2, we learnt how to describe a writer and a famous tourist interest. In Unit 3, it trains students’ abilities of reading, listening, speaking and writing. The object is to summarise and consolidate the use of infinitives and other important points. Teaching objectives: After this lesson, students will be able to: use mind maps to describe a famous writer in detail; write a simple review according to the sample; make a plan for the coming weekend; correctly use infinitives in real situation. Emotional and cultural awareness: Try to enjoy different cultures; Experience the happiness of participating. Teaching key points: Students can retell the information of a famous writer by using mind maps; Students can use infinitives to make plans; Students learn how to write a review. Teaching difficult points: Students may get confused about infinitives with and without “to”. Students may have limited time to finish the tasks.
