Students will master the rules of changing statements and questions from direct speech into indirect speech. 【教学流程】 Step 1 The definition of direct speech and indirect speech Today, we’re going to talk about “direct speech and indirect speech”. First, please look at this sentence: 直接引语: She said, “I don’t want to set down a series of facts in a diary as most people do, but I want this diary itself to be my friend, and I shall call my friend Kitty.” (Anne’s Best Friend) 转换为间接引语: She said (that) she didn’t want to set down a series of facts in a diary as most people did, but she wanted that diary itself to be her friend, and she would call her friend Kitty. From the above two sentences, we can see clearly what direct speech is and what indirect speech is. 归纳: 直接引语 将别人的话一字不改的放在引号(“”)内 间接引语 用自己的话对别人的话进行转述,不用加引号 即学即练: Complete the following two sentences. = 1 \* GB3 ① He said, “I’m going to go to the cinema tonight.” 他说:“我打算今晚去看电影。”’ = 2 \* GB3 ② He said that he was going to go to the cinema that night. 他说他那天晚上打算去看电影。” Step2The rules of changing statements and questions from direct speech into indirect speech How to change statements from direct speech into indirect speech? Now, let’s look at some examples: = 1 \* GB3 ① Mary said, “I want to have a computer of my own.” Mary said that she wanted to have a computer of her own. = 2 \* GB3 ② His friend said to him, “You have passed the exam.” His friend told him that he had passed the exam. = 3 \* GB3 ③ The workers said, “The leaders will make the workers work extra hours.” The workers said that the leaders would make the workers work extra hours. 归纳: Rule1: 人称的变化:一随主,二随宾,第三人称不更新 Rule2: 时态的变化:时态向后退一步 2.
