Discuss with your partner the structure of the sentences and underline the subject and the infinitives. ;1. Our goal is to display the Chinese artistic genius from ancient times.;;1. 不定式作表语时,描述主语的具体内容、性质、特征或目的担当句子主语的名词,大多用于表示某种情形或状况:advice, aim, custom, business, desire, difficulty, duty, experience, habit, happiness, hope, idea, intention, job, method, plan, principle, problem, purpose, reason, risk, role, task, thing, wish, ambition等。例如: The best way is to join an English club. 最好的办法是加入一个英语俱乐部。 A college counsellor’s job is to help students adjust to college life. 大学辅导员的工作是帮助学生适应大学生活。 His ambition is to become an astronaut.??? 他的理想是成为一名宇航员。 ;2. 当句子的主语是不定式时,系动词后可接不定式作表语,用于解释主语所描述的行为或说明该行为带来的结果。例如: To weep is to risk appearing sentimental. 哭泣就是冒着显得伤感的风险。 To argue with him is to challenge his authority. 和他争论就是挑战他的权威。 To see is to believe. 眼见为实。 ;3. 当主语含定语从句且其先行词为代词all或形容词最高级the least, the most时,后可接“系动词+不定式” 作句子的表语。例如: All he wanted was to be left alone. 他只想一个人呆着。 The least I can expect is to have this day all to myself. 我至少能期待的是自己完全拥有这一天。 4. 当不定式作表语时,句子主语可以使what引导的主语从句。例如: What he hoped was to be admitted into the university. 他希望能被大学录取。;不定式作表语;不定式作表语 注意事项;动词不定式的否定式 不定式的否定式是not / never to do...;例如: The secret is not to get involved. 秘诀是不要介入。 My intention?is not to?shock anybody. 我本意不是要震惊任何人。 The important decision?is never to?give up working for each others benefit. 重要的决定是永远不要为彼此的利益而放弃工作。;【注意】 动词-ing
