TheteachingdesignofthisunitisguidedbytheEnglishCurriculumStandardsforpulsoryEducation(2022Edition),withthematicmeaningastheleaderanddiscourseasthebasis,topromotethedevelopmentofstudentsEnglishcoreliteracyinthefouraspectsoflanguageproficiency,culturalawareness,thinkingqualityandlearningability.Atthesametime,theteachingofthisunitisbasedonBloomscognitivelearningdomaingoalclassification,withaviewtomakingtheEnglishcoreliteracytrulyetofruitionthroughtheimplementationofteachingactivitiespointingtolearningandunderstanding,practicalapplication,transferandinnovation.

Thismoduleconsistsofthreedifferenttypesofdiscourse:adialogue,anarrative,andanexpositorytext.ThedialogueprimarilyrevolvesaroundAmyandJeffdiscussingtheitemsforyardsale.Theydelveintotheemotionalvalueofbelongingsandthedifficultyofpartingwiththem,emphasizingthememoriesandemotionalconnectionsassociatedwiththeseitems.Thesedialoguesaimtoeducatestudentsaboutthevalueofbelongings,includingemotionalconnections,practicaluse,andthechallengesofbiddingfarewelltothem.Throughdiscussionsanddecisionsregardingthefateofdifferentitems,the
