Abstract
Thesubjectofthisgraduationdesignistheschematicdesignofa82000-tonbulkproduct
carrier.Whatthedesignermainlyconsidersisthepracticabilityoftheshipandthe
economicalpointofvie,etriedtoreducethecostoftheshipconstruction.Thehole
designprocesscoversmostoftheknoledgehichthedesignerhasgainedfrom
undergraduatetaughtcourses.Thedesignprocesscanbedividedintosixmajorpartsas
follos:
1.Fixtheprincipaldimensionsoftheshipinaccordanceiththedesignspecification
andthencheckthecapability.Inordertoselectoptimalschematic,thedesignerhastaken
threemethodsintoaccountandchosetheoptimaloneaftercomparison.Furthermore,the
maincharacteristicsoftheshiparepreliminarilychecked.
2.Designthelinesoftheunder-aterpartoftheshipusingthemethodof“1-Cp”,hile
theup-aterpartisdesignediththemethodof“Self-design”tocorrespondtothe
under-aterpart.Therequirementsofthelinesofthesternmustbeconsideredinorderto
easilyarrangeascrepropellerandarudderbehindthestern.
3.Consultsimilarshipstogoalongiththegeneralarrangement.Tomaketheshipto
orknormallyandseamentolivecomfortably,itisnecessarytoarrangeeverycabinand
variousrelatedequipmentproperly.Theframespaceandthenumberofbulkheadsare
determinedbycorrespondingrules.
4.Accordingtolinegragh,ecancalculatethehydrostaticcurve.Calculationof
HydrostaticsandStability.Inthecalculationofhydrostaticandstability,thedesignerobtains
thehydrostaticscurves.Theinitialstabilityforthefourtypicalloadingconditions,i.e.
fully-loadedarrival,
