pollution,andclimatechangearedisruptingthatbalance-increasingwater-relatedrisksaroundtheworld.Waterrisktypically

occurswhenthedemandforwaterexceedssupply,whenpoorwaterqualityrestrictsitsuse,orduringextremeweatherevents.

Itcantakemanyformsbuttypicallymanifestsasthedepletionofwatersources,floodingdamage,orthedegradationofwater

resourcesoraquaticenvironments.

Waterriskcanhaveadirectimpactoncommunities,suchaswhencitiesfaceDayZeroscenariosinwhichwatersupplies

comeclosetodepletion.Butwaterisalsoastrategicbusinessrisk.Waterisessentialacrossmanyindustries,fromagriculture

todatacenters,servingasadirectandindirectinputthatensuresbusinessproductivity.Shortagesordeclinesinwaterquality

havesignificanteconomicconsequences,whilefloodsdestroybillionsworthofassetseachyear.Companiesoperatingin
