Oedipuscomplex,ChinesetranslationintoOedipuscomplex.Generallyspeaking,itreferstoapsychologicaltendencyofpeople,wholiketofeeltogetherwiththeirmother.Oedipusisnotlove,butmostlycomesfromakindofappreciationandadmirationforthemother.Isacommonsocialphenomenon,boysandgirlsmayhaveOedipus.MostpeoplehaveOedipalcomplexatacertainage,andalmosteveryoneduringchildhood.

恋母情结，中文翻译成恋母情结。一般来说是指人的一种心理倾向，喜欢和母亲在一起的感觉。俄狄浦斯不是爱，而大多来自于对母亲的一种欣赏和钦佩。是一种普遍的社会现象，男生女生都可能有恋母情结。大多数人在一定年龄阶段都有恋母情结，童年时期几乎每个人都有。
传说在古希腊神话中，俄狄浦斯王子意外杀死亲生父亲，并违背自己的意愿娶了自己的母亲。劳伦斯用这个来形容儿子对母亲的依恋。他认为男孩会母爱，而对父亲:争夺父爱和父亲，潜意识里想取代父亲占有母亲，同时非常现实地承认父亲比自己更强大，从而抑制对母亲的性冲动，并在心理上对父亲、对父亲产生厌恶，模仿父亲的行为和态度，以此来赢得母亲的爱。
