Thispaperprovidesaninsightintothedevelopmentandimplementationof
aflightsimulatorintendedforthetrainingofpilotsoflightandultra-lightsportsaircraft.Therearemanysimulatorsoflargeairlinersandmilitaryaircraft in service today; however, simulators of sports airplanes areextremely rare. This can be attributed mainly to high development andproductioncostsofsuchsimulators.Theprimaryaimofthisprojectisthedevelopmentofareasonably-pricedflightsimulatorforpotentialcustomers(sports flight schools) while maximizing simulation authenticity andaccuracy.Inadditiontoaudiovisualandcontrolsystems,thesimulatorisequippedwithmodulesenablingthesimulationofmotioneffects,whichcan
have,particularlyinthistypeofaircraft,asignificantimpactonthepi
reactionsanddecisions.Amajorpartofthispaperprovidesadescriptionofaparallelmanipulator(Stewartplatform)andtheoptionsofemployingitformotionsimulationpurposes.
Introduction
Thispaperdescribesthedevelopmentofaflightsimulatoroflightandultra-lightsportsaircraft.
Simulatorsaredevicesreproducing,asaccuratelyaspossible,thecharacteristicsandbehaviourofrealdevicessuchasaerospaceandlandvehicles.Flightsimulatorsaretypicallyusedforpilottrainingandforresearchanddevelopmentpurposes.
Involvingasimulatorinthetrainingprocesshastwomainbenefits:First,anymistakesthepilotmakesintrainingdonotjeopardizehishealth.Thesecondbenefitisaneconomicone–itismuchcheapertooperateasimulatorthanarealdevice.
