5.1Introduction

ThischapteranalysesthespatialrelationshipbetweendemandpointsandLNGsupplychain

infrastructureslikeLNGterminalsandtransportmodes.TheanalysisusedtheresultsinChapter

ThemainoutputsarethesetofprimaryandsecondaryLNGterminals,assignedtransportmodes,

andfinaldemandpointslistedinthefollowingtables.

5.2Methodology

5.2.1ProcedureforLNGsupplychaininfrastructuredevelopmentanalysis

TheLNGsupplychaininfrastructuredevelopmentwasanalysedusingthefollowingprocedure:

First,majorLNGdemandpointsandterminals(existingandplanned,andthermalpower

plants/states)wereidentified.ThethermalpowerplantlocationwasidentifiedusingEnipedia.

Theareacoordinates(latitudeandlongitude)werecollectedfromtheEnipediasite.Thedemand

inacertainprovince,thecentroidcoordinate,isregardedasthedemandpoint.Thecentroidis

calculatedfromthepolygonsinshapefileformatusingQGIS.

Second,thenearestneighbourpointsbetweendemandpointsandportswereidentified.The

directdistancecanbecalculatedfromthegeographiccoordinatesofdemandpointsandports.

Thenearestportsbasedonthisdirectdistancewerethenidentified.Atthispoint,thetransport

modewasstillnotbeingconsidered.

Third,LNGdemandvolumewassummarizedforeachportusingthepreviousprocedure
