    thenanalyzethedatainsomedegree.Basedonthisandtheoverall

    statisticsthatwecollect,wepredictthepopulationdevelopmentof

    GuangxiProvinceinthefuture.Thispapermainlyexpoundsthemethods

    ofpopulationforecasting,andalso,itpaysgreatattentiontothe

    logicalityandthecorrectnessofforecastingprocess.

    GM(1,1)graymodelhastheadvantagesoflesssampleneededand

    highaccuracyofprediction,whichissuitableforshort-termor

    medium-termpredictionofpopulation.Inthispaper,wecollectthedata

    from2000to2015inGuangxi,andweforecastthepopulationof

    GuangxiProvincefrom2016to2031byusingtheGM(1,1)model,

    accordingtothegreytheory.Atlast,basedontheseexplanationand

    prediction,thispapercarriesouttheerroranalysis.Bydoingthese

    researches,thispaperpointsoutsomethingaboutthismodelthatneed

    tobeimprovedandputsforwardsomesuggestions.

    Thepopulationforecastingresearchisareferenceforthe

    governmenttoformulatesocialeconomicplanningandformulatethe

    populationpolicies;thepopulationforecastingresearchprovidesabasis

    fortheoreticalandanalyzing;andalso,thepopulationforecasting

    researchhasanimportantreferencevalueintheformulationofthe

    nationaleconomyandsocialstrategicobjectives.

    Therearemanytraditionalmethodsofpopulationforecasting,of

    whichthemainmethodsarelogicalmethod,ordinarydifferential

    equationmethodanddynamicforecastmethod.Thesemethodsplayan

    importantroleinthefieldofpopulationprediction,butthedatausedin

    thesemethodsshouldbeassumed.
