Itwasdiscoveredthatwhenacustomerselectsthe“RestoreFactoryDefault”buttonintheConfigmenu,

theresistorcalibrationvaluesareresettothedefaultvalueswithoutrequiringapasswordornotificationto

thecustomerthatthevaluesarebeingreset.Theresistorcalibrationvaluesaretheinstrument’smain

calibrationandtheresetmaycauseoutoftolerancemeasurements.Engineeringhasinvestigatedthis

issueandtheinstrumentfirmwarehasbeenrevisedtoensurethattheresistorcalibrationvaluesarenot

resettothedefaultvalues.ApasswordisnowrequiredtoaccesstheRestoreFactoryDefaultcapabilityof

theinstrument.

Flukeiswillingtoupgradeyourinstrumentwithnewfirmwareatnocosttoyou.Therearethreeoptions

withregardstoupgradinginstrumentsdependingontheinstrumentfirmwareversion.Wehaveverifiedthat

upgradingthefirmwaredoesnotaffectthecalibration.

1.ReturntotheFactory(AllcostswillcoveredbyFluke):

Ifthe1594Aor1595Afirmwareversionisbetween1.00/1.00and1.12/1.01,theinstrumentmustbesent

backtothefactoryforafirmwareupgrade.Theinstrumentwillberecalibratedatnocosttothecustomer.

Ifyouchoosetoreturntheinstrumenttothefactoryforupgrade(nomatterthefirmwareversion),the

instrumentwillberecalibratedatnocosttoyou.

Inordertoreturnyourinstrumenttothefactory,contactourCustomerCareCenter(877.355.3225)fora

ReturnMaterialAuthorization(RMA).Donotutilizetheon-lineRMAsystemasitisnotsetuptohandle

thissituation.

2.DownloadtheFirmwareUpgradefromtheFlukeCalibrationWebsite

WehavesetupthecapabilitytodownloadthefirmwarefromourFlukeCalibrationwebsite.Instructionsfor
