Abstract:

Thispaperexaminestherelationshipbetweenglobalizationandincomeinequalityindevelopingcountries.Globalizationisacomplexphenomenonthathasbothpositiveandnegativeeffectsonincomedistribution.Whileglobalizationhasthepotentialtoboosteconomicgrowthandreducepoverty,italsohasthepotentialtoincreaseincomeinequalitywithinandbetweencountries.Thispaperusesacasestudyapproachtoinvestigatetheimpactofglobalizationonincomeinequalityinasampleofdevelopingcountries.

Thefindingssuggestthatglobalizationhascontributedtoanincreaseinincomeinequalityindevelopingcountries.Factorssuchastradeliberalization,foreigndirectinvestment,andtechnologicaladvancementshaveledtoawideninggapbetweentherichandpoor.However,theresultsalsoshowthattheimpactofglobalizationonincomeinequalityvariesacrosscountries,withsomecountriesexperiencingamorepronouncedincreaseininequalitythanothers.

Overall,thefindingshighlighttheneedforpolicymakerstoimplementmeasuresthatmitigatethenegativeeffectsofglobalizationonincomeinequality.Thismayincludeinvestingineducationandskillstraining,implementingprogressivetaxpolicies,andpromotingsocialprotectionprograms.Byaddressingincomeinequality,developingcountriescanensurethatthebenefitsofglobalizationaresharedmoreequitablyamongtheirpopulations.
