MaliaisnowmajoringingraphicdesignandadvertisingatTemple.Betweenacademicsandfencing,sheisdoingverywell.Thispastyear,shewontheElite90AwardintheNationalCollegeAthleticAssociationDivisionⅠWomen’sFencingChampionship.Theawardisgiventoathleteswhohavereachedthehighestpointinnationalcompetitionintheirownsport,aswellasthehighestacademiclevelamongtheirpeers.“Movingforward,I’mnotgoingtotakefencingasseriously,”shesaid.Aftercollege,shehopestoworkinthesportsindustryasagraphicdesignerormarketer.Shewantstolivenearafencingclub,whereshecancompetewithfun.Whereverhercareertakesher,Maliawillalwaysberememberedasanindividualwhobrokeboundaries.
