approximately93percentiron,5percentcarbon,and2percentimpurities.

impuritiesproducescastiron.Thetype,orgrade,ofcastironisdeterminedby

theextentofrefining,theamountsofpigironandscrapiron,andthemethods

usedtocastandcoolthemetal.

malleableiron.
