Beforeyoustart

Beforeyoubeginthisprocedure,ensurethatyouhavereceivedthenewpart.

Handlingreplaceableunits

Thissectiondescribestheprecautionsthatyoumusttakeandthegeneralproceduresthatyoumustfollowwhenremoving,

installing,andstoringanyreplaceableunit.

Avoidelectrostaticdischarge(ESD)damage

Whenreplacingorinstallinghardwareunits,youcaninadvertentlydamagethesensitiveelectroniccircuitsintheequipmentby

simplytouchingthem.

Electrostaticchargethathasaccumulatedonyourbodydischargesthroughthecircuits.Iftheairintheworkareaisverydry,

runahumidifierintheworkareatohelpdecreasetheriskofESDdamage.

Followtheseprocedurestopreventequipmentdamage:

●Provideenoughroomtoworkontheequipment.

●Cleartheworksiteofanyunnecessarymaterialsormaterialsthatnaturallybuildupelectrostaticcharge,suchasfoam

packaging,foamcups,cellophanewrappers,andsimilaritems.

●Donotremovereplacementorupgradeunitsfromtheirantistaticpackaginguntilyouarereadytoinstallthem.

●Beforeyoubeginservice,gathertheESDkitandallothermaterialsyouneed.

●Onceservicingbegins,avoidmovingawayfromtheworksite;otherwise,youmaybuildupanelectrostaticcharge.

●UseESDanti-staticglovesoranESDwristband(withstrap).IfusinganESDwristbandwithastrap:
