CloudBoostsupportsthefollowingusecases:

1.Directbackuptocloud

2.Backupofcloud-residentapplicationsinpubliccloudssuchasAmazonWebServices(AWS)andMicrosoftAzure

3.Tieringtocloudforlong-termretentionofdata

TheCloudBoostapplianceisavailableinavirtualform.TheCloudBoostapplianceenablesNetWorkertosupportlongterm

retentiontoasupportedpublicorprivatecloud.Additionally,theCloudBoostappliancecanrundirectlyinVMWareESX,and

AWSorMicrosoftAzuretosupportpublicclouddeploymentswithNetWorker.

TheCloudBoostappliancedecouplesthedatafromthemetadataandallowsclientdirectbackupfromtheprotectedsystemto

thecloud.ThisactionremovesbottlenecksandallowscloudscaleprotectionofclientswithNetWorker.Alloptimizationssuch

asdeduplication,compression,encryptionaredoneontheclient-side.OnlythemetadataisstoredontheCloudBoostappliance.

Alldatatransfersareperformeddirectlytoobjectstorage.

TheCloudBoostapplianceisintegratedwithEMCSecureRemoteServices.TheEMCSecureRemoteServicessoftwareis

recommendedtomonitorthehealthoftheCloudBoostapplianceandprovidesbetterremotesupportfortheCloudBoost

appliance.
