Thetextbookandreferencebookmainlycovertheknowledgethatinstructorintroducedintheclass,butnotlimitedtothesebooks,studentsshouldhavetheabilitytosearchandexposetotheresourcestosupportstudy.

Thegoalofthiscourseistopreparestudentstoanalyzefinancialissuesusingstatistics.Itcoverstopicsintheareasofprobabilitytheory,sampling,estimation,hypothesistesting,andregressionanalysis.Whilemanystudentstakingthisclasswillhavealreadytakencoursesinstatisticsandregressionanalysis,thiscoursewillprobablyplaceamuchstrongeremphasisthantypicalcoursesonconceptuallyunderstandingthequantitativemethods.Sincethecourseistargetedtothird-yearstudents,wewillnotshyawayfromusingthemathematicaltoolsneededtodevelopthe
