RESOLUTION

ResolutionE-4937.AuthorizingSouthernCaliforniaEdison’splantoconductasolicitationforenergystoragetocomplywithSB801(Stern)

PROPOSEDOUTCOME:

ThisResolutionapprovestheproposalofSouthernCaliforniaEdisonCompany(SCE),toconductacompetitivesolicitationforenergystorageprojectsoperatedbythirdpartiesthatarecapableofalleviatinggenerationsupplyshortagesduetoAlisoCanyon,andmeetingallrequirementsofSB801(Stern).

Specifically,thisResolutionadoptsthesolicitationdesign,protocols,standardproformacontractandevaluationcriteria.

SAFETYCONSIDERATIONS:

SouthernCaliforniaEdisonCompany’sproformacontract,submittedwithAL3785-E,requiresindependentreportsfromsafetyengineerspriortoconstruction,andrequiressellersshalloperatethefacilitiesinaccordancewithprudentandsafeelectricalpractices.AdetailedlistofsafetyprovisionsemployedbySCEarelistedonPages7and8ofAL3875-E.

ESTIMATEDCOST:

ThisResolutionisexpectedtoresultinadditionalcontracts,whichcouldleadtoincreasedratepayercosts,butcouldalsooffsetothercosts.Actualcostsofthecontractsareunknownatthistime.
