Introduction

TheS6Microsondeisasmalldiameter6.4mm(0.25)battery

poweredsondetransmittingon33kHzandiscompatiblewitha

widerangeofRadiodetectionlocators.Withitssmalldiameter,

theS6Microsondeisparticularlyusefulinsmalldiameterducts

whereitcanbeusedtotracethepathoftheductandinthe

preciselocationofblockagesorcollapses.

TheS6Microsondecanbe‘blown’orattachedtoacablebefore

jettingitintotheductandmayalsobeconnectedtoatraditional

pushrodandinsertedintotheductorpipe.Therouteoftheduct

canbetracedusingaRadiodetectionlocatorandtheprecise

locationanddepthofablockagecanbedetected.

Radiodetectionsupplyacomprehensiverangeofsondes,some

locatabletodepthsofupto15m(49)andwithdiametersranging

from6.4mm(0.25)to64mm(2.52),tosuitawidevarietyof

applications.

TheS6Microsondekitincludesthefollowing:

OperatingtheS6Microsonde

TheLithiumIonbatteryprovidesapproximately10hours’usage

althoughbatterylifemaybeshorterinverycoldconditions.

Whenthebatteryisinsertedandmountingconnectorisfitted

thesondeautomaticallyswitchesonandstartstransmittinga

continuouslocatesignal.

AnLEDatthetipoftheS6flashesslowly

whenpowerison.Ifthebatteryislow,theLED

willswitchoff–althoughthesondemaystill

operateforsometimeuntilthebatteryistotally

consumed.Itisadvisabletoreplacealow

batteryassoonaspossible.
