AspartoftheseniorMARSleadershipgroup,youwillberesponsibleforshapingtheformationanddirectionofthisnew10FTE(全职员工)unitwithintheSchoolofMathematicalSciences.YouwillhaveanoutstandingtrackrecordofresearchinthemathematicsofAIand/orappliedmathematicsofreal-worldchallenges,demonstrableexperienceofbuildingapositive,inclusiveandcollaborativeresearchculture,andavocationfornurturingstaffanddevelopinganoutward-facingtalentpipeline.YouwillbeabletoevidenceexcellenceinscientificleadershipandtheabilitytobringthistoMARS,thewiderSchoolandtheUniversity.

Astrongtrackrecordofsecuringexternalresearchfundingandpublishingininternationally-leadingMathematicalSciencesjournalsisessential.Ideally,youwillhaveanapplicationfocusinatleastoneofthefollowingMARSkeyapplicationareas:cybersecurity,engineering,environmentandhealth.

Youwillhaveconsiderableexperienceoftranslatingfoundationalmathematicalfindingsintoreal-worldsolutions,throughpartnershipsoutsideoftheacademicsector,andwillbeabletofosternewcollaborationswithresearchersfromotherdisciplinesandwithnon-academicorganisations.YouwillbeanenthusiasticambassadorforMARSandforthedisciplineof
