TheMillennialGenerationincludespeoplebornroughlybetweentheearlynineteeneighties

andtheyeartwothousand.Thesepeopleareintheirteensandtwentiestoday,andtheyare

differentfromearliergenerationsinsomeimportantways.

Firstly,they’remoreurban.Intheearly1990s,onlyabout40percentofallpeoplelivedin

citiesworldwide.Today,duetomoreworkandeducationalopportunitiesincities,morethan50

ManyMillennialsarealsobettereducatedthanpeopleinearliergenerations.Wealth

worldwideisincreasing.Sofamilieshavemoremoneytospendoneducatingtheirchildren.In

themid1990s,forexample,Chinahadonlythreemillioncollegestudents;todaytherearemore

than25millionandthatnumberisincreasing.

Unlikeearliergenerations,manyMillennialssaytheyaremoreopentodatingormarrying

someonefromadifferentbackground,ingreatpartbecauseitseasytolearnaboutothercultures

viatheInternetandsocialmedia.IntheU.S.,arecentstudydonebythePewResearchCenter

showedthatover85%ofMillennialssaytheywoulddateormarrysomeonefromadifferent

ethnicorculturalbackground;thatnumberdroppedto55%forAmericansaged55to64yearsold.
