ACTOS(pioglitazonehydrochloride)isanoralantidiabeticagentthatactsprimariyby

decreasinginsulinresistance，ACTOSisusedinthemanagementoftype2diabetes

melitus(alsoknownasnon-insulin-dependentdiabetesmelitus[NIDDM]oradultronset

diabetesj，PharmacologicalstudiesindicatethatACTOSimprovessensitivitytoinsulinin

muscleandadiposetissueandinhibitshepaticgluconeogenesis、ACTOSimproves

glycemiccontrolwhilereducingcirculatinginsulinlevels.
