金钱的价值

当金钱被正确使用时，它是一种福分。其他一切奇特事物也是如此。假如使用得当，它们会给人运气；假如滥用金钱，它们会给人带来灾难。很多人似乎不知道金钱是用来做什么的。他们最想要的是金钱，但他们期望它主要花在自己身上。

有些男孩似乎认为钱是用来买好衣服、食物、玩具和消遣的。有些男孩似乎还认为钱是用来买休闲的。他们认为最高的幸福是没有工作的生活。但这根本不是花钱的目的。我们应当更接近事实。

金钱是我们在贸易中流通的媒介。家庭需要它来购买他们必需拥有的东西，这样社会及其富强就存在。金钱意味着食物、衣服、住宅、学校、书籍、明智的消遣和行善的手段。

固然，钱不是用来囤积的东西，它的价值在于它的用途，因此，仅仅囤积的钱是没有价值的，它既不能购买生活必需品，也不能挽救那些需要钱的人。

有人说“爱钱是万恶之源”，也就是说，为了自己的利益而追求的钱是各种罪恶——撒谎、偷窃、哄骗、抢劫，甚至谋杀的根源。这是避开成为钱迷的最好理由。
