ABSTRACT
Theauthorprovidedconsecutiveinterpretingserviceforanonlinemeeting
betweenadoctoratestudentandhisprofessorviaZoomonSeptember20th,2023.In
thisreport,theauthorlooksbackathisinterpretingperformancesinthismeetingand
evaluateitundertheguidanceoftheUMEER(Understand,Memorizing,Expressions
andEmergencyResponse)modelproposedbyLiChangshuan.Thentheauthor
summarizedinterpretingproblemsoccurredduringtheprocess,analysereasons
behindtheseerrorsandproposepossiblesolutionstotheseproblems.
Thisreportconsistsoffiveparts:Chapteronedescribesthebackground,client
profilesandpurposeofthetask.Chaptertwopresentswhattheauthorhasdoneinthe
threestagesofthistask:pre-interpretingpreparation,interpretingprocessand
post-interpretingevaluation.ChapterthreeintroducestheUMEERframework.Chapter
fourshowstheauthor’sanalysisofspecificproblemsduringtheinterpretingunderthe
guidanceoftheUMEERframeworkandhisownreflection.Basedonthesetheauthor
analyzedreasonsbehindthesemistakesandproposedpossiblesolutions.Chapterfive
istheauthor’splanforwritingthethesisinthefuture.
Thisreportcouldnotonlybeamirrorfortheauthortoreflectuponhisown
interpretingperformances,servingasareferenceforfutureinterpretingjobs,butalso
