1Scope

Thisstandardestablishesrequirementsofquality,performanceanddeliveryconditionforchromium

platingsappliedtopolymericsubstratesbyelectrodeposition.Thematerialsspecifiedhereinare

suitableforinteriorandexteriordecorativeapplications,pertheguidelinesbelow.

ApprovedsubstratematerialsconstituteplatablegradesofABS,PC+ABSandPA,selectedfrom

theappropriatematerialstandardfortherelevantpolymerchemistry.Forthepurposesofthis

standard,partsovermoldedwithplatableplasticaretreatedasthoughofmonolithicconstructionin

thesecondmaterial.
