Sallysbirthdaywasapproaching,andtheexcitementthatusuallyfilledherheartwasnowreplacedwithdisappointmentandstress.Turningelevenwasabigdeal,andshehadalwayscelebrateditwithagrandpartysurroundedbyherfriends.However,thisyearwasdifferent.Theburdenofexcessivehomeworkandherparentsstrugglingbusinessweighedheavilyonher,forcingSallytomakethedifficultdecisionofnothavingabirthdayparty,eventhoughitwasaneventsheenjoyeddearlyeveryyear.
